Giving an impetus to “Santulan”, a campaign initiated by the Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan (DJJS) against sex-selective abortions, senior citizens of Ludhiana took a pledge to save the birth of girl child on the Grandparents Day today.

It was a step taken for the social cause wherein the sexagenarian and septuagenarian couples from across the district expressed their enthusiasm to spread the message in the society.

Bhagat Ram Handa and his wife Shashi Handa feel that girls are an anchor of the society who step into the role of a sister soon after the birth and then go on to give meaning to the relations referred to as “bua, mami, chachi, massi, bhabi and so on”.

“These relationships are the basis of the close-knitted Indian families and a person opting for sex selective abortion is not just guilty of ending an unborn life, but is also responsible for depriving a family of all these relations,” feels Bhagat Ram.

Highlighting the growing disparity in the sex-ratio, another elderly, Sadhvi Harimitra Bharti, said it was not only in the case of numbers of boys and girls that the disparity is widening, but also in the values of masculinity and a feminine energy, too. The latter being marked by the love, forgiveness and compassion is indispensable to societal development, Bharti observed.

Referring to the connotation of “stri”, a Sanskrit synonym to woman derived from a Sanskrit word ‘str’ which means propagation, another grandparent stated that the role of women in the society is not just restricted to that of a propagator of human race in form of a mother but it is of the propagator of human values and values associated with feminine energy. “Thus, women should come forward to raise their voice against female foeticide,” the grandparent went on to add.

Krishan Lal and Sheela, another elderly couple from the periphery of Ludhiana, termed girls as the catalyst behind “positive” works carried out in the society. “We in the capacity of grandparents will call upon every grandparent in our circle to promote the birth of girl child,” the duo said.

Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) today organised an interactive workshop on gender equality at CCIT Institute here under its ongoing "Santulan" campaign against sex-selective abortions. The campaign was launched by the religious outfit, headed by Ashutosh Maharaj, on July 11 this year, in a bid to create mass awareness and sensitisation against the social menace.

The workshop primarily focused on cracking the discriminative behaviour against women, which in turn bred a diseased society, where boys were preferred over girls and female foeticide remained rampant.

Deepika Sehgal, a disciple of Ashutosh Maharaj, and the focal point of "Santulan" programme moderated the two-hour workshop, attended by teachers, other staff members of the institute, students and their parents. She undertook the "ice breaking" interactive quiz on gender sensitisation and a picture game on gender/sex difference to drive home her points.

A lecture on "Value-based grooming" by sadhvi Harimitra Bharti, another disciple of Ashutosh Maharaj, followed the interactive session at the workshop.

She said, “Identifying individual psychology and resultant mind sets as the primary driving forces for human actions and their repercussions on the state of women in our society, our campaign aims at instigating a positive social change on the issue of gender equality through the instrumentation of the eternal science of self realisation.”

Deepika said, the campaign, since its launch, had laid several benchmarks in creating awareness against the menace of sex-selective abortions. This included an interactive conference with experts of medicine and health, gender equality workshop with volunteers of the programme on the International Youth Day.

Designer rakhis from Tihar Jail

With a gleam in her usually calm eyes, 40 year old Parvathi, busies herself in crafting rakhis filled with a feeling of forgiveness for her brother because of whom she has been languishing behind bars for the past 10 years. Parvathi (name changed) is among the 30 inmates who are participating in a three-month long designer rakhi-making workshop organised at the high security Tihar jail here.

Coordinated by a non-governmental organisation, the rakhis thus made are sold at branch outlets across the country and the proceeds are used to pay wages to the prisoners and also contribute to other activities for correction and rehabilitation of the prison inmates by the organisation. For the inmates in the central jail, the process of rakhi-making is an opportunity to bless the brothers in the world outside the prison boundaries with their prayers.

"We take care that each rakhi is made clean and beautiful to convey the love and dedication of each sister, who buys it, towards her brother," says Simra (name changed), a 39 year old inmate. Simra belongs to a conservative village in Rajasthan and says that her brother doesn''t feel nice to get a rakhi tucked from her while she is behind the bars.

She awaits the day of her release and says the first festival she will celebrate after that is ''Rakshabandhan'' with her brother. The rakhis - a symbol of brotherly love - made by the prison inmates are being sold from branch outlets of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), an organisation that has been working for the reformation and rehabilitation of prisoners for the last 16 years.

"Life behind the bars affects the psychology of these people. So, we take help of spiritual, cultural and vocational tools in order to stabilise their mindsets and then channelise their otherwise diverted energies into a positive and constructive direction," Swami Vishalanand, the NGO''s spokesperson told PTI. Rakshabandhan is a symbol of pious love between a brother and a sister.

"Rakhi is pledge to love and security that a sister and a brother take respectively. I don''t consider what my brother did to me.

I pray that this festival leaves good memories for all the sisters," says Parvathi, who has been in prison for the last 10 year on the charges of drug smuggling. .

A grand exhibition was organized by Sonalika International, Hoshiarpur where in products of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan made under programs Antarkranti and Antardrishti were displayed. The Sansthan is undertaking these programs, Antardrishti visually challenged persons and project Antarkranti for prisoner rehabilitation.

In this exhibition products manufactured by visually challenged, like Biscuits, Scented Candles and Herbal Soaps as well as products made by prison inmates under Antarkranti program like Rakhis, Face Packs, Mehendi and many other things were displayed.

Swami Chinmayanand Ji while addressing the delegation declared that a physically challenged person when trained properly and his hidden capabilities as a vocation and he is made capable to earn his living is the unearthed and polished so that he becomes capable to earn his living with dignity is a great service to society.

Under the able guidance of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, the founder & head of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, revolutioned program Antardrishti and Antarkranti are a great success. Under this program man is empowered from within and the spiritual consciousness awakened within him is making a strong and more capable person who is able to become self‐dependent. Regional office coordinator Swami Parmanand Ji said that Sansthan organizes self‐realization and motivation lectures empower people in various schools for visually challenged, physically challenged students and other places to provide inner strength and empower the youth. population. Employment is being provided by organizing various technical workshops visually challenged and tihar inmates have been trained to make Candles, Soaps, Biscuits, Diyas, Joy sticks and many hand crafted things. Sufficient remuneration and basic health benefits as well as future security are taken care of by the Sansthan.

The earnings from these are used for extending better facilities and organizing welfare programs for the same. The sansthan is working in Asia’s biggest prison house Tihar since 1996 by providing self awareness and bringing transformation by spiritual self‐realization.

Managing Director of Sonalika Internation Shri Deepak Mittal Ji organized the exhibition in his factory premises and praised the efforts of the Sansthan in their endeavour. The two day exhibition was attended and appreciated by the factory workers and they in turned bought the products thus helping thousands of visually challenged and tihar inmate’s welfare. On this occasion Sonalika International is human resource head Manika Kalia and Shri Sanjeev Malhotra extended great support to the Sansthan.

New Delhi: On the occasion of Independence Day, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan successfully marked the freedom of learning and the inherent joy associated with it. Its holistic education program – Manthan – organized an interaction session between its beneficiaries and the benefactors. The ‘Joy of Learning’ was celebrated on August 15 here to commemorate the national occasion as an opportunity to propagate the message of selfless service to the mankind, a pivotal necessity in the current Bharat.

The state-of-art event brought on a singular platform the sponsors of the students who receive supplementary education at the Shakurpur centre, along with their parents, who come from economically backward strata. The occasion left an emotional remembrance.

“My association with Manthan gives me immense satisfaction. The volunteers have dedicated their lives for a great self-less cause. They are striving day and night to consolidate the future of the deprived children, who would not want to be a part of this noble initiative,” said Mahesh Gupta, owner of Mukul Consultants and sponsor of 10 students at the Manthan supplementary education centre.

Even as the Delhi government is taking all enthusiastic initiatives in promoting civic education in the autowallahs and the bus conductors, in the view of Commonwealth Games, children of the under-privileged people are still thriving in negligence.

However, the young, dynamic and well-read volunteers of Manthan strive to approach professionals from diverse backgrounds and acquire insight in developing the best curriculum for the students who either never went to schools or who dropped out due to repeated failures, informed Ms Neha Grover, a disciple of Shri Ashutosh Mahraj ji and the focal point of Manthan – the holistic education program of DJJS.

“The Manthan program of DJJS focuses on overall development of children. Apart from grooming their academic skills, an equal impetus is led over the enhancement of their creative brilliance. With the essence of spirituality, we all toil towards constructing a strong moral value structure in the children, based on the vedic system of Gurukul education,” exclaimed Ms Grover.

Expounding upon the specialty of the Manthan Program, Secretary DJJS, Swami Narendranand Ji said, “Manthan is a bridge between the haves and the have nots. The sponsors here are not just making a ground for a child to stand firm in future but for his entire family. The money they give is also utilized in ensuring proper nutrition to kids.”

The Manthan supplementary education centre is second such centre by DJJS in India. The first was established in Saharsa District of Bihar. Hundreds of children are the beneficiaries of Manthan and several young hearts volunteer for the cause selflessly.

Individual transformation can harmonize environment at large: DJJS

Consider this. When the glaciers melt, the water level rises, and the population migrates from costs to plains, then population imbalance would lead to the end of the already scarce natural resources. The resources, which are contemporarily taken for granted.
Be it an unnoticeable routine or a commercial requirement, man is incessantly ruining his basis of existence. Result – total environmental disruptions -- climate change, global warming, tsunamis, earthquakes, storms, volcanoes, et al.

Soaring air pollution, dipping water table, growing number of endangered species and depleting natural resources, all have brought life on earth to the brink of complete devastation, say environment experts.
The sharp decline of natural resources today stands as a major road block in both social and economic progress. “The consequences of this environmental degradation are even more pronounced in developing world, where nations are confronted by multiple challenges of poverty alleviation, economic development and environmental conservation,” says one of the popular notifications at the Copenhagen climate summit, 2009.
“Whatsoever may be the environmental anomaly and no matter how varied the evident cause may seem, at the root of all environmental issues lies the unchecked and ignorant human actions. How many times does one realize that water he gets at an easy twist of a tap passes the hydrological cycle and travels a rigorous journey from the glaciers to reach our homes. This evident disconnect, leading to ignorant action and continuous wastage of resources, is the underlying cause of all environmental issues,” believes Aditi Mehandiratta, environmentalist at Sanrakshan, the nature conservation programme of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS).
However, nature has always been the ultimate giver supporting and sustaining lives of all living beings including human beings, but the dynamics of this relationship has witnessed a change. The long- lived human- nature relationship of mutualism has gradually translated into one of extraction.

Acknowledging this fact several initiatives at regional and global level have been conceived time and again to address the prevalent issues and re-establish ecological balance. However, the success rate has not been promising. A key reason of the unexpected results of these initiatives has been the inability to engage the primary unit of all evident issues- the human, an individual.

“Problems are many, evident causes are many, short term solutions can be diverse. But, the lasting change lies within us. The ever-lasting solution is ‘Self Realisation’. As, after all policy makers, criminals, reformers - thrive on same life energy,” proclaims His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj ji, the founder and head of DJJS.

Dell has been the front-runner in green initiatives and environment efforts. Innovative ways of conserving the environment like packaging its netbooks, five-inch Streak tablet and Inspiron laptops in cushions made from responsibly sourced bamboo are among its many initiatives. Dell is the first company to offer compostable packaging. It offers free recycling of old PCs given free of cost by consumers and in return gives discount coupons of Rs 1,000 on their next purchase of any Dell item. ‘Dell Go Green Challenge’ is an online campaign to raise awareness and community involvement in green initiatives in India.

3i Infotech

3i Infotech Consumer Services Limited is working towards cutting down the consumption of paper by the use of disruptive technology tools. Last year, papers equivalent to over 75,000 trees were consumed for income tax filings by 29 million individual tax return filers, even though there are facilities for e-filing. This prompted 3i Infotech Consumer Services Ltd. (a subsidiary of 3i Infotech) to venture into consumer technology and help save trees.

Green carnival at BIA

Marcel Hungerbuehler, president of BIAL, on Friday inaugurated a five-day event termed Hasiru Habba (green carnival) in support of the World Environment Day. It aims at spreading the importance of the 4 Rs - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Re-grow — through fun and interaction. It is being held from 9 am to 9 pm from June 4-8 at the curbside of the terminal building.

Accenture

Accenture, with TERI, has launched Environment Sustainability Project. The year-long project aims at building environmental responsibility among college students across seven cities: Bangalore, Chennai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Noida and Pune. Accenture employees, along with 20 students from each of these colleges, will work with TERI and its partner NGOs to devise ways of improving the environmental status of local communities. College students will team with employees in a ‘planta-tree’ campaign. Accenture will also conduct an ‘eco-challenge’ - providing an employee carbon calculator, to understand and reduce their carbon footprint.

The week-long Environment Day celebrations will culminate in a cycle-to-work campaign in collaboration with Greenpeace and an initiative to conduct free vehicle emission checks for its employees. Greenpeace will run a series of activities by setting up kiosks across Wipro campuses. These kiosks will disseminate information on topics like global warming and display videos and share tips.

Film festival

Five films on climate change and environment made under the UK Environment Film Fellowships 2010 will be previewed on Saturday in association with the National Geographic Channel.

Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces presents EARTH (Environment Awareness & Renewal at Taj Hotels), a project towards energy conservation and environmental management. Ness Technologies will run sustainable campaigns throughout June to reduce carbon footprints. The company plans to switch off all the lights in the common area the whole year. Tree plantation, emission testing and waste segregation will also be conducted.

युवा परिवार सेवा समिति की ओर से आयोजित योग शिविर के दूसरे दिन हजारों लोगों ने योग के महत्व पूर्ण गुणों के बारे में जानकारी ली। दिव्य ज्योति जाग्रति संस्थान के संस्थापक एवं संचालक आशुतोष महाराज के शिष्य स्वामी मोहनपुरी ने बताया कि योग से मस्तिष्क को बहुत लाभ होता है। शरीर में जाने वाली कुल ऑक्सिजन का 15 प्रतिशत भाग मस्तिष्क ले लेता है। इसलिए जितना अधिक ऑक्सिजन शरीर में जाएगा, उतना अधिक मस्तिष्क को पहुंचेगा। विलक्षण योग के विशेषता है कि इसे करने से श्वास प्रक्रिया व तंत्र सशक्त होते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि विलक्षण योग संपूर्ण मानसिक स्वास्थ्य लाभ व मन की शक्तियों को जाग्रित करने का अद्भुत साधन है। योग संपूर्ण शारीरिक, मानसिक व आध्यात्मिक स्वास्थ्य को सिद्ध करने की वैज्ञानिक पद्धति है। स्वामी मोहनपुरी ने बताया कि प्रतिदिन एक—एक, दो—दो करके योगिक क्रियाएं बढाई जाएंगी तथा पांचवें दिन तक शास्त्रों में वर्णित उत्कृष्ट प्राणायाम में सिद्ध कर दिया जाएगा। कैंप में हजारों की संख्या में शहर वासी पहुंच रहे है। योग से अपने कष्टों को दूर कर रहे हैं।

युवा परिवार सेवा समिति की ओर से पांच दिवसीय योग शिविर 24 मई से महिंदरा कालेज के सामने स्थित ढिल्लो कालोनी ग्राऊंड में लगाया जा रहा है। योग शिविर में लोगों को योगासन का प्रशिक्षण योगाचार्य स्वामी मोहनपुरी देंगे। उक्त जानकारी देते हुए युवा परिवार सेवा समिति के नेशनल चेयरमैन डा. हरजिंदर सिंह संधू व जिला स्तरीय जनरल सचिव जगतार सिंह ने संयुक्त रुप से बताया कि शिविर में करीब 2500 लोगों को प्रशिक्षण देने की व्यवस्था की गई है। जिसमें से करीब 1400 लोगों की रजिस्ट्रेशन हो चुकी है। उन्होंने बताया कि उक्त शिविर में लोग निशुल्क हिस्सा ले सकते हैं। शिविर में मधुमेह(शूगर), हाई व लो ब्लड प्रैशर, पेट के रोग एंव कब्ज, बवासीर, भगंदर, कौलस्ट्रोल बढऩा, दिल के रोग व अन्य रोगों से मुक्ति पाने के लिए योग प्रशिक्षण दिया जाएगा। चेयरमैन संधू ने बताया कि उनकी समिति में अधिकतर सदस्य युवा हैं, जिसकी वजह यह है कि वह युवा वर्ग को नशे जैसे पतन की राह से बाहर निकाल सामाजिक हित में लगाने का प्रयास कर रही है। नतीजन आज उनकी संस्था के साथ देश भर में 50 हजार से अधिक युवा मेंबर बने चुके हैं। जगतार सिंह ने कहा कि पटियाला में करीब 250 मेंबर उनकी संस्था के साथ समाज सेवा का काम कर रहे हैं। इस मौके पर जसबीर सिंह, हरिंदर कौशल व गौरव मौजूद रहे।

Homage paid to victims of the Mangalore Airplane Crash

Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, a socio-spiritual NGO in the City, paid tribute to the Mangalore plane crash victims on Sunday by organising a prayer meet at Bannapa Park here.

Around 50 people from the organisation had gathered to pray for the departed souls. The event was organised to spread the message of universal brotherhood. They also lit candles, made by visually challenged people under Antardrishti project of the Sansthan.

Ayurveda - a science of holistic healing has its roots in India and is accepted as alternative medical treatment in West, as well. This widely growing trend formed the ground for the fourth day of Vilakshan Yog camp being organized by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan at the Kheli ground of the Government High Secondary School on the Border road in Samba district. Tomorrow is the last day of the event.
The Ayurvedic system of medicine has laid down principles and methods of treatment for various diseases including chronic illnesses where there is no definite curative treatment available otherwise.
Highlighting the origin of this extra-ordinary treatment, Vilakshan Yog expert Swami Mohanpuri Ji said, "Lord Brahma was the first professor of Ayurveda who founded the very basics of this stupendous medicine structure."
During his session over the medical science, Swamiji asserted that surgery, which is considered as a boon of contemporary medical advancement is also an off-shoot of Ayurveda. Surgery in Ayurveda is called as 'Shalya Chikitsa' which has been practiced by the Indian sages' years before.
While demonstrating Kapol shakti vikas, Swami Ji said that, "regular practice of this yoga directly reflects on your face, in the form of reducing signs of aging, and gives a radiant face."
Swami Ji also introduced 'Neti' and expounding upon its benefits Swami Ji said that, "This kriya is a sure shot and easy way to ensure a healthy ENT (Ear, Nose and throat) system." Emphasizing on its routine Swami Ji said that, "Neti must become a regular part of ones daily routine. The ones who practice it daily will never suffer from any disease in the organs including and above the throat.
DJJS is primarily a spiritual organization, with its headquarters in New Delhi is founded and headed by Sri Ashutosh Maharaj ji The camp under its health initiative - Aarogya - is therefore, also directed at the dissemination of certain spiritual discourses.
The topics of spiritual lecture today were - concentration of thoughts and alike acceptance of sorrow and joy. "The only way to achieve wisdom coupled with a healthy body, active mind and peaceful soul is true eternal knowledge - Brahmgyan," Swami told the gathering.

Experts dwell on poor implementation of PNDT Act

Divvy Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, a socio-spiritual organisation, and University Institute of Laws, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana, today organised a seminar on constraints in awareness and implementation of the Pre-conception and Pre-natal Diagnostic Techniques Act at Punjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana.

With national Census 2011 approaching, the experts and activists on gender and population issues are getting skeptical of what would emerge as the latest sex ratio.
As per the last census in the year 2001, sex ratio in the 0-6 age group has fallen to 896 girls per 1000 males, the lowest ever in a decade for the world, and second most populous nation worst hit is Punjab with Fatehgarh Sahib having a ratio as low as around 747 girls per 1000 boys.
The intellectuals while speaking at today’s seminar said though the Pre-Conception Pre-Natal Diagnostic Test Act had been enacted more than 16 years ago, the practice of sex determination and sex selection of foetus was not subsiding.
PCPNDT Act prohibits any pre-conception and pre-natal detection and sex selection techniques.
The seminar held presentations on legal, social and medical aspects of poor implementation and ignorance about PCPNDT Act. Harish Rai Dhanda, chief parliamentary secretary, chaired the programme.

As cities world over switch off lights for one hour tomorrow in an attempt to create more awareness about climate change, the WWF exuded optimism about Earth Hour 2010 initiative in India saving more energy than last year.

"Of all sectors, the power sector solely contributes a whopping 50 per cent to India's total carbon emission. Under the Earth Hour initiative people are motivated to switch off their lights and electrical appliances from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm on March 27.

This is a measure to instill awareness about depleting climatic conditions on Earth," says Aarti Khosla, Campaign Manager, World Wide Fund India.

Last year, the organisation was able to encourage saving of around 1200 mega watts of energy in India, "but this year we definitely plan to surpass this," points out Khosla.

Growing environmental threats - most recent devastating earthquakes in Haiti and Chile - have rung alarm for natural resource conservation at all levels.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has called Earth Hour "both a warning and a beacon of hope."

"Climate change is a concern for each of us. Solutions are within our grasp and are ready to be implemented by individuals, communities, businesses and governments around the globe," Ban said in a statement.

The United Nations will be joining will join the initiative along with many other landmarks around the world.

However, several other groups in India have also shown a keen interest on the occasion in creating awareness in the masses regarding the dire need to preserve natural resources.

"Climate change is a discrepancy created by persistent human exploitation. Hence, its cure lies only in a consistent and united human initiative...individual awareness and action is the key to combat climate change," says Aditi Mehndiratta, head 'Sanrakshan', nature conservation initiative of an NGO.

"The NGO has inspired lakhs of beneficiaries not only in India but across the globe to switch all their lights and electrical appliances. Along with this our followers would also sit in divine meditation on Earth Hour and pray for the strength of Mother Earth," adds Mehndiratta.

At the British Council High Commission in India, environmental films will be screened a day prior to the Earth Hour. "A film screening and photo exhibition is being organised in order to sensitise our staff and their family about the depleting state of environment. Apart from this, office lighting would be turned off from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm," says Dan Chugg, spokesperson of the Commission in India.

This Holi, play with edible gulal made in Tihar Jail

Edible colours handmade by women inmates of the Tihar Jail are set to be sold in different parts of Delhi.

A group of 20 woman inmates at Tihar's Jail no 6 are using herbal raw materials like flowers to make dry colours (gulal) which will be sold at specified centres in the capital.

"We have used arrowroot powder and flower petals alongwith food grade colour and natural fragrances to make colours that are purely skin friendly and even eatable," says Vishalanand, spokesperson Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), an NGO which has been working with inmates for over 15 years.

To make a quick buck, some manufacturers adulterate the colours with diesel, chromium iodine, engine oil, copper sulphate, and glass powder (to add sheen), which is known to cause nausea, headache, breathlessness among other ailments, say medical experts.

"Making of colours in the women's ward of the prison is an attempt to provide inmates some source of income. The project is not a permanent one and will end a few days before Holi," says Sunil Gupta, Public Relations Officer, Tihar Jail.

Inmates who are given training to make the colours are commissioned to produce 10,000 packets of 100 grams each of purely herbal dry colour, which will be put up for sale.

"The proceeds from the sale of the products would go into the Prisoners' Welfare Fund," adds Gupta.

Vishalanand says, "Packaging of the colours will be done at par with the international standards and they will be put on sale at a mall in Rajouri Garden and Delhi Haat. The colours would be available at counters outside the Jail also."

"We have also approached a few corporate houses to put up the colours on sale in stalls inside their premises," he says.

Inmates, all women mostly in their late 30s or early 40s say they are enthusiastic about the whole exercise.

"We want to tell the world that adulteration of Holi colours can prove injurious to health," says an inmate, who is referred to as "Baby" by fellow inmates.

Other initiatives at the high security jail include an exhibition for the inmates by celebrity fashion designer Sanjana Jon, who even came out with a range of outfits for them.

Choreographer Shiamak Davar recently conducted a workshop for 100 inmates.

DJJS conducted Two Day Training Workshop on Prevention of Drugs at Workplaces. Intensifying its outreach to check the onset of drugs amongst youth and directing the drug users in the small scale industrial units towards treatment Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan trained another 32 young volunteers in Delhi & NCR. The two day training workshop organized at DJJS Ashram in Nehru Enclave, Nehru Place, Delhi that completed on 31^st Jan, 2010 enabled the volunteers with knowledge and skills to take up preventive and curative interventions at workplace.

Training workshop was the part and launch of pilot project of BODH- Drug Abuse Eradication Program of DJJS that aims at providing consultation and generating awareness on drug abuse to owners and labour in small scale industries in Delhi & NCR region. This project will work on two pronged strategy of prevention and treatment. While the project will strive to prevent the non-users from experimenting with drugs it will also motivate drug users for treatment for overcoming addiction. Sansthan will also promote its 'Dhyan Therapy' for drug treatment which involves no cost and highly effective in elimination of mental obsession of an addict on the substance of use. It is noticeable that DJJS has cured thousands of addicts through its different branches across India using the instrumentality of 'Brahm Gyan' based 'Dhyan Therapy'.

The volunteers were the disciples of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji working in different sectors; IT, medicine, business, education, finance etc. Session was taken by Sushree Jaya Bharti, Preacher of DJJS and Dr. Atul Ambekar, Asst Professor, AIIMS

सरदार गुरुमेज सिंह ने खुले शब्दों में कहा, अगर संस्था का प्रचार ऐतराज़ योग्य है तो इसको गुरुबानी के आधार पर सिद्ध किया जाए. उन्होंने कहा कि संत आशुतोष के बारे में गलत धारणा रखने वालो को मैं खुला निमंत्रण देता हू कि वो आमने सामने आकार विचार विमर्श करे. लुधिअना की घटना के बारे में जानकारी न रखने वालो को मैं ये बताना चाहता हू कि संस्था के समागम का विरोध करने वालो ने हाथ में नंगी तलवारे लेकर नारे लगाकर सरे आम अशांति फैलाई थी. वो इस बात से अनभिज्ञ है कि कोई भी मामला तलवार से नहीं बल्कि विचार के साथ हल करना चाहिए. सरदार गुरुमेज सिंह खालसा ने समूची कौम को अपील करते हुए कहा कि हमे हमेशा भड़कने से पहले सच्चाई को जान लेना चाहिए. इस मीटिंग में रणजीत सिंह खालसा, बलबीर सिंह खालसा, गुरुदीप सिंह बराड़, सरबजीत सिंह भोगल, सतबीर सिंह ढिल्लों, गुरुदर्शन सिंह दिलगीर, प्रितपाल रंधावा, दविंदर सिंह संधू, मनिंदर खालसा और अन्य सदस्य शामिल हुए.
